MY VALUES IN DESIGN
Three habits I carried over from arguing cases
01
I question the first explanation.
A habit from law: never trust the first answer. I keep asking “why” until something underneath it shows up.
02
I stay curious, even when it's hard to prove.
When I notice something others haven't, I advocate for it — even before I can fully explain it.
03
I can't unsee it.
Once something's been noticed, I can't pretend it wasn't. That's what keeps me accountable.
WHY DESIGN, AFTER LAW?
In law, the root cause was often the person I was trying to help.
In design, the root cause is the system or tool. Something that needs to work better, or doesn't exist yet — not the other way around.
That's the kind of problem I want to spend my time on.
OUTSIDE OF DESIGN
You'll find me near water: waterfalls, lakes, oceans, or underwater entirely. It's the one place that asks nothing of me.
FUN FACTS
NEW SKILL UNLOCKED IN 2026
I discovered I can paint in May 2026. The universe really sat me down and gave me a lecture, and somehow the takeaway was “you can paint now.”
